釋高上進一步指出,女性在35歲以後,骨量以每年1%~2%的速度減少,在更年期過後,每年以3%~5%的速度快速下降,因此50歲以上的女性是骨質疏鬆的高危險群。
根據2013年國際骨質疏鬆症基金會研究指出,在2025年時,台灣過50歲以上女性人口數將增加31%,未來將有500萬以上的女性面臨骨鬆風險。此外,隨著年齡增加,關節軟骨中葡萄糖胺的生成速度減緩,關節軟骨磨損增加,而造成的關節退化更是造成行動力不足的主要因素。
亞洲物理治療聯盟理事長簡文仁表示,根據最新調查發現,八成關節僵硬柔軟度差、五成熟女彎腰駝背挺不直、無法單腳站立缺乏平衡感,恐面臨潛在的骨骼關節健康危機。
台大營養學博士吳映蓉提醒民眾,補充關節營養可選擇軟殼蟹、甲殼類食物與動物軟骨等。為了方便現代女性同時保養骨骼及關節,市面上也有含鈣與葡萄糖胺的高鈣奶粉,雙重補充骨骼與關節所需的營養素,配合適當的規律運動,維持骨骼關節健康,可避免老年行動力下降問題。
